West Ring Road - Ferrara

The temporary consortium of companies comprising Coopsette, the Consorzio Cooperative Costruzioni and the Consorzio Ravennate delle Cooperative di Produzione e Lavoro has been awarded the contract for the completion of the west ring road of Ferrara, which will serve as an alternative route to the current National road SS64 Porrettana.
Therefore, the dispute presented by a competitor excluded during the competition phase has been definitively closed after the Council of State, the main legal, administrative and judiciary body in Italy, rejected this competitor’s appeal for a suspension of the awarding of the contract. This contract represents the natural conclusion of a partially completed project, intended to enhance the road network for the southern part of the city of Ferraraby adding a strategic connecting road which will also be a fundamental component in light of the future Cispadana and Ferrara-Mare motorway.
Work has begun on the completion of a 8-kilometre section of the ring road, which will consist of a  single carriageway with two lanes, one in each direction and two shoulders, for a total length of 10.5 metres.
The total value of this contracted work amounts to over 20 million Euro.
