Turin Underground Metro
Coopsette, group leader for ATI Coopsette – Kopa Engineering – Otis, has completed the finishing construction on the first two sections of the automatic metro in Turin. The first section was completed in 2006 in time for the Winter Olympics. The second section, which was carried out by the same group of companies, was completed in 2011 as part of the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy. In both cases the project encompassed the finishing construction (non-weight bearing walls, flooring, wall siding, hanging ceilings, lighting, ventilation, smoke detection system, escalators and lifts) of 6 underground stations measuring about 60 m in length and 15 m in width. The Metro runs at a depth of 20 m below the level of normal traffic.
